About schooldoor.in
The government already publishes this data — it's called , and it covers over 1.7 million schools. The problem is that nobody outside a school administrator's office can actually read it. It's spread across dense forms and coded fields that don't mean much to a parent trying to decide where their child should study.
schooldoor.in takes that same official data and writes it out in sentences: how many teachers a school has, what facilities it reports, how it's run. You don't need an account and we don't ask who you are. The data is refreshed as UDISE+ updates it, so if something looks off, it's worth checking with the school directly before you decide anything.
But a government census can't say whether the teaching is good, the fees are fair, or the toilets actually work. That's why schooldoor is crowdsourced: collect information, correct information. Parents, students and alumni add reviews, experiences, photos and reports to every school's page, and fix details that are out of date. Contributions are unverified opinions and observations, not official findings — read them the way you'd read a neighbour's advice.
